Michail Antonio scores at Chelsea

Goals: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham United

West Ham United were denied a positive result at Chelsea on Saturday by a combination of Kai Havertz's late strike and a controversial decision - after a VAR referral - to rule out Maxwel Cornet's late leveller.

West Ham struck first in a see-saw second half, as Michail Antonio tapped in from close range after Declan Rice knocked Jarrod Bowen's corner back across goal.

Chelsea came fighting back, and Ben Chilwell squeezed home from a tight angle to level with 14 minutes to play.

Cornet came off the bench and struck a post with his first touch, then Havertz converted at the other end to make it 2-1 to the hosts.

There was even later drama to follow, as Cornet slammed home, only for VAR Jarred Gillett and ref Andy Madley to decide Jarrod Bowen had fouled goalkeeper Édouard Mendy.
