Divin Mubama goes close for West Ham United U21s against Chelsea

Highlights: U21s 0-1 Chelsea

West Ham United U21s were incredibly unfortunate to fall to a 1-0 Premier League 2 home defeat against Chelsea.

Lining up in a 3-5-2 formation, the Irons went close to taking the lead just nine minutes in when Ollie Scarles' whipped cross was met superbly by Callum Marshall - only for the striker's effort from six yards to be somehow kept out by Blues goalkeeper Eddie Beach.

Another excellent Scarles cross prompted havoc in the Chelsea box before Derrick Abu struck the top of the crossbar from distance for the away side.

Divin Mubama put the ball in the net early in the second-half, heading home at the second time of asking, only for the striker to be ruled off side in the build-up, before Chelsea took the lead moments later through Lewis Hall's low effort.

Krisztián Hegyi was twice called into action to make incredible stops, denying the away side further goals, before Keenan Appiah-Forson saw a shot saved and Ollie Scarles fired a low effort agonisingly wide.
