West Ham United U21s fell to a tricky 1-0 defeat against AC Sparta Prague 'B' in a fixture between two European sides on Tuesday evening.
A competitive contest played at the Chigwell Construction Stadium, the Irons found it difficult to break down a physical and strong Czech side, with the visitors taking the lead just before half-time through Martin Ambler's low effort.
Pierre Ekwah saw a free-kick tipped over for the Irons, while Freddie Potts tested with a swivelling effort early in the second half.
Ekwah again went close as a powerful effort was saved from distance, but the Hammers could not force their way back into the match.
