Ten-man West Ham United U21s were beaten 2-1 at Rush Green Stadium by Everton U21s.
The Toffees took the advantage in the first half courtesy of Issac Evan's close-range, first-time finish after Francis Okoronkwo squared the ball across the box.
The home side went close through Armstrong Okoflex but the chances of making a comeback became slimmer early in the second half when Divin Mubama was dismissed, receiving a straight red card.
Keenan Appiah-Forson and Okoflex tested Everton goalkeeper Zan-Luk Leban with powerful efforts before Pierre Ekwah levelled the match with his second goal in as many games on 76 minutes.
The score would stay at 1-1 for only a couple of minutes, however, as Everton substitute Halid Djankpata curled home to give the away side all three points.
