West Ham United U21s secured a sixth Premier League 2 win in eight matches by defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 at Rush Green Stadium.

A goalless, and admittedly tepid, first-half was followed by a second 45 minutes filled with chances, with all five goals after the half-time interval.

Kamarai Swyer's sixth goal of the season came six minutes into the second half. The No10 cleverly swivelled in the area to volley home Keenan Appiah-Forson's recycled pass, giving the Irons the lead.

Divin Mubama added a second just 12 minutes later when the striker expertly evaded Brighton's offside trap to latch onto Regan Clayton's superb through-ball. The forward netted with a delightful, dinked finish, doubling West Ham's advantage.

Josh Duffus pulled a goal back from a one-on-one position on 72 minutes but Mubama struck for his personal second - and the Hammers' third - with six minutes left to play. Swyer was fouled in the penalty area and, for the second Premier League 2 match in a row, Mubama made no mistake from 12 yards.

Mark O’Mahony’s goal in added time meant a nervy conclusion at Rush Green Stadium, but the Hammers held on for another three points, moving the side up to tenth in Division 1.
