Kateřina Svitková is looking forward to the prospect of West Ham United Women taking on Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.
The Czech Republic international is expecting a tough match against Spurs, who have made a good start to the campaign this term.
She also hopes that she can continue with her goalscoring efforts, after scoring her first goal of the season against Birmingham City in the Continental Tyres League Cup on Wednesday.
“It felt good to get off the mark,” Svitková told whufc.com at the full-time whistle on Wednesday evening.
“I had a lot of chances against Reading last Sunday that I was disappointed didn’t go in, so it’s nice to have one find the net.
“I’ve also been working on extra shooting practise this week with the coaching team, so I’m pleased that the extra work has paid off and hopefully I can score a lot more before the end of the season.
“We’re in a great position now to go through to the knockout stages of the cup and everything is in our hands going into the last game - and now we look forward to the game against Spurs on Sunday."
The 25-year-old midfielder knows what it’s like to play in a London derby, having played in both games against Tottenham last season.
Svitková admits that her side are expecting a tough game against a strong side on Sunday, but that the team are well prepared for the contest.
“We know that the game against Tottenham will be tough and I know that we will be prepared for what we could come up against.
“I’m looking forward to playing against them because we didn’t win against them last season, so I’m hoping that we can do better this time.
“I compare them to Sparta back home in the Czech Republic, they’re really tough, they like to get stuck in and be physical.
“I think if we play our game then we can create chances against them, and if we’re clinical then we should be able to score a couple of goals," Svitková concluded.
