Ahead of West Ham United against Everton at London Stadium on Saturday, Łukasz Fabiański has the Last Word…
Everton it is a very important game, a huge game, for us. And we know the challenge we will face on Saturday.
Everton has always been a very difficult team to play against over the past years. We beat them at the London Stadium last year, but lost in the fixture in October at Goodison Park. It is always competitive, very tight, and very close, whether we play home or away. I expect nothing else on Saturday.
To get over the line we have been working hard this week. We have been preparing like we normally do. In the first part of the week, we have been focused on recovery from the previous game, and in the second part of the week, we have been preparing for Everton. We are trying to keep ourselves in the best condition we can be, keeping ourselves as sharp as we can be. We know we will have to be at our best.
The manager has been pushing us in training too. He knows that we have not been doing well enough. And has been telling us a lot about how important this weekend is, how important the result is, and how we need to get us back on track with a positive result in front of our fans.
Getting over the line on Saturday, I think it is about staying calm and believing in what we have as a team. I believe there is a lot of quality in the team, so is about being calm in pressurised situations.
A home fixture is a great opportunity for us too. Our home form has not been good enough this season and that is what we have to work on in the coming games. We have to do the best we can to change that, especially with the support we know we will get this weekend.
My message to the fans is to be there for us on Saturday. I know we are not doing well, so we understand the disappointment, but they can be a big part of turning things around, especially at home. We count on them. A lot.
I know they will be there to support us because together we can pick up the results and make sure we are going in the right direction.
