Goalkeeper Brian Kinnear was unable to help Falkirk FC avoid defeat against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Saturday.
Inverness, who had won six out of their last seven games, took a 3-0 victory at Hampden Park.
Two goals from Billy McKay and an effort from Daniel Mackay saw Falkirk’s memorable cup run end, despite the third tier outfit more than holding their own throughout the competition.
Falkirk will now turn their attention back to Scottish League One, where with eight points from their last five games they will be looking to achieve promotion to the second tier.
And yet there was a victory for another Hammers’ goalkeeper as Nathan Trott played his part as Vejle recorded a 2-1 win over FC Helsingør in the Danish First Division.
Vejle were two goals to the good inside ten minutes with German Onugkha and Arbnor Mucolli both on the scoresheet during a pulsating opening.
Callum McCowatt did halve the deficit with 78 minutes played, however Vejle held onto their first win in five attempts.
Trott and company remain top of the Danish First Division, with 17 wins from their first 27 matches played.
Elsewhere, Nikola Vlašić, who has only been outscored this season by one other Torino player in 2022/23, saw his side slip to a 2-1 defeat to European football-chasing Atalanta.
In a tense Serie A battle, Davide Zappacosta struck first, although Antonio Sanabria pulled Torino level with 75 minutes played.
Half-time substitute Vlašić saw his side beaten by a late winner from Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata, who struck with two minutes of normal time to be played.
Torino, as a result, remain 12th in the Serie A table, with 42 points from 32 league games.
