A host of West Ham United loanees featured for their respective clubs over the weekend.
Arguably the best showing came from Jacob Knightbridge, who made a sequence of late saves as Harrow Borough battled to a 3-3 draw at Yale Town in the Southern League Premier Division South.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who has been with the West Ham United Academy since he was seven years old and was a regular figure in the U18s goal last season, made two crucial saves before the hosts took the lead.
Further goals took the match to 3-3, but it was Knightbridge who ensured a point for Harrow with a run of late saves.
First, the 18-year-old did well to deter a shot and then clear a corner as the hosts’ pressure surged in the closing moments.
The young Hammer, who signed his first professional deal with the Club over the summer, then deflected the ball away with his feet and later tipped a cross away to preserve a valuable point for his side.
Meanwhile, Nikola Vlašić played for just over an hour, but Torino were unable to avoid defeat to Bologna in Serie A.
Saša Lukić put Vlašić’s side ahead, but Tornio shipped two further goals against a side that featured former Hammer Marko Arnautović. Vlašić has recorded four goal contributions in 13 league fixtures this season.
Nathan Trott also played 90 minutes for Vejle, but his side fell to a 3-2 defeat to Hillerød Fodbold in the Danish First Division. However, Trott and company remain four points clear at the top of the table, with 11 wins from their 16 league fixtures.
Elsewhere, Armstrong Okoflex played the first half as Swansea City battled to a 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic. A late penalty from Joël Piroe secured the Swans a point at Liberty Stadium and leaves the hosts two points from the play-offs in the EFL Championship.
In the FA Cup First Round, Dan Chesters played just under an hour as Colchester United were beaten 2-0 by Newport County, with fellow Academy of Football youngster Thierry Nevers an unused substitute for the hosts at Rodney Parade.
In the same competition, Mipo Odubeko featured for 67 minutes, although Port Vale fell to a 3-2 defeat to Exeter City at Vale Park. A Jevani Brown brace for the visitors ultimately decided the fixture, although Odubeko assisted Vale's opening goal.
