More Hammers get ‘Special’ FIFA cards!

They just keep on coming at the moment: West Ham United duo Tomáš Souček and Michail Antonio have taken the total of ‘Special’ FIFA 22 Ultimate Team cards released in the month of March to five!

Souček, named in the FIFA Team of the Week as recently as Wednesday 2 March, has been recognised for his superb showing in last week’s UEFA Europa League round of 16 second-leg win over Sevilla with a ‘Man of the Match’ card.

Antonio, meanwhile, has received a ‘Fantasy FUT’ card, a similarly powerful item which will receive in-game upgrades over the closing weeks of the season depending on certain conditions.

For both players – popular picks within the online fantasy game mode – it marks the third iteration of their FIFA 22 in-game presence.

Souček’s ‘Europa League Man of the Match’ card was awarded after the Czech midfielder scored the opening goal and produced a dominant performance with five clearances, three tackles and two blocks in the eventual 2-0 win against Sevilla after extra-time.

His now-86-rated card boosts him up from an initial base rating of 82 (and Team of the Week rating of 84); key boosts go to the 27-year-old’s physical rating, augmented to 89 (up from 85); defensive attributes to 86 (from 82); his dribbling to 80 (from 74); and his passing to 79 (from 74).

The card became available on Saturday (19 March) and can now be found in Ultimate Team packs for a limited time.

Antonio’s 88-rated ‘Fantasy FUT’ card, meanwhile, ties the striker’s FIFA rating to real-life performances; should he feature in three of the Hammers’ next five league games, win one of those games, or score or assist one goals in those games, he will receive an additional +1 boost in all three scenarios.

Combining pace, power and lethal finishing, the forward’s card is available – at a moderate cost in terms of cards – via a Squad-Building Challenge until Tuesday 29 March: an 85-rated squad, featuring at least one Premier League player, must be contributed.

Antonio’s pace (up to 93 from an initial 83); shooting (up to 90 from 76); physical attributes (up to 93 from 83); dribbling (up to 88 from 78); and passing (up to 85 from 73) are all significantly boosted.

After recent Ryan Fredericks and Declan Rice's ‘FUT Birthday’ cards, there are now a grand total of 14 different ‘Special’ West Ham items in FIFA 22!
