Divin Mubama versus Chelsea

Mubama shortlisted for Premier League 2 January Player of the Month

West Ham United's Divin Mubama has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January.

The striker has been in sensational form in the early weeks of 2023, scoring four goals and providing an assist across three Premier League 2 matches.

Mubama struck with a cool penalty in the 2-1 win away to Everton at the start of the month, before sweeping home and setting up Kamarai Swyer in a 3-2 home defeat against Manchester United.

The 18-year-old capped a superb month in Mark Robson's development side by netting twice - including an excellent second finish - in a 3-2 win away to Chelsea last week.

Mubama's fine form in January also saw the forward earn his second appearance in David Moyes' first team, with the Academy of Football graduate coming on as a substitute in the 2-0 FA Cup fourth round win away to Derby County on Monday.

Also nominated for January's award is Manchester City trio Carlos Borges, Adedire Mebude and Mikki Van Sas, Abu Kamara of Norwich City, Manchester United's Joe Hugill, Southampton's Dominic Ballard and Mason Burstow of Chelsea.
