A goal either side of half-time from Arsenal's centre-back pairing was enough to send West Ham United to a 2-1 Premier League defeat at London Stadium on Sunday.
Jarrod Bowen had struck on the stroke of half-time to send West Ham United in level at the break, only for Gabriel to nod home from close range to re-establish his side's advantage on 54 minutes.
In an evenly-contested opening period, it was the Gunners who edged in front on 38 minutes when Rob Holding rose to meet a corner from the right with a forceful downward header.
But West Ham responded strongly and Bowen took down a Vladimir Coufal cross in the box before beating Aaron Ramsdale - with the help of a deflection - and net his tenth Premier League goal of the campaign.
Gabriel's goal meant the Hammers had to respond again, and although the saw more of the ball as they searched for a second leveller, the hosts were unable to create the big chance that mattered.
