West Ham United welcomed Silkeborg IF of Denmark to London Stadium on UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) Group B Matchday Five.
David Moyes' Hammers went into the game knowing just a point was needed to confirm top spot and direct passage to the round of 16 in March next year, while SIF knew only a victory would keep their hopes of pipping the Irons to first place alive.
Morocco defender Nayef Aguerd made his competitive debut for the Hammers after recovering from an ankle injury suffered in pre-season.
Manuel Lanzini repeated his feat from the reverse fixture in Denmark in September, which ended 3-2 to the Irons, when he scored from the penalty spot on 24 minutes after Michail Antonio had been fouled by goalkeeper Nicolai Larsen.
