David Moyes has confirmed Saïd Benrahma should be fit and available for West Ham United’s final Premier League match of the campaign, away to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Benrahma last featured for the Irons in the 4-0 win at Norwich City two weekends ago, scoring twice in the victory before being forced off in the second half due to a knock sustained at Carrow Road.
Having missed out on the draw with Manchester City at London Stadium last Sunday, the Algerian should be involved in the matchday squad for the Hammers’ closing contest of the 2021/22 season.
Manager Moyes does not anticipate Issa Diop being fit in time for the trip to the American Express Community Stadium, however, with the centre-back out of action since mid-April due to an ankle problem.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Moyes confirmed: “Saïd Benrahma should be fit for the game. Issa Diop, we still don’t think his ankle is quite right yet, but we expect Benrahma will be fit and available.”
The home match against Manchester City last weekend also provided the Club and supporters the opportunity to pay tribute to Club captain Mark Noble, who is set to hang up his boots at the end of the season after 18 years in Claret and Blue.
The midfielder’s emotional, final season is set to conclude against Brighton, and Moyes is prepared to call on Noble on Sunday for what would be his 550th and final outing for West Ham, as the team seek to secure a consecutive sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Moyes added: “He’s played well enough to be in the team and he’s played well enough to be involved. If the right opportunity comes along, and I think it’s right for him, then yes.
“I’ll only do what I think is right to get the best result though. But obviously it’ll be a big day for him as well.”
