David Moyes has offered a positive update on the fitness of Michail Antonio and Craig Dawson, confirming the duo should be available for West Ham United’s home clash with Manchester City.
The Irons are preparing to return to league action against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester side after a week of hard work on the training pitches at Rush Green.
Both Antonio and Dawson were substituted during the Hammers’ last Premier League match – a 4-0 win away to Norwich City – but the manager is optimistic he will be able to call on the forward and the centre-back at London Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Moyes said: “They [Antonio and Dawson] have trained today. I think they will be fine for Sunday.”
Saïd Benrahma also enjoyed a fantastic showing away at Carrow Road last weekend, scoring two expertly-taken finishes, but the Algerian was also forced from the field due to a knock in the second half against the Canaries.
Moyes revealed that the versatile midfielder had been able to return to physical work, having been able to do some light running on the training pitches, but is not sure if Benrahma will be able to feature this weekend.
He added: “Saïd [Benrahma] is a little bit of a question mark - he's out doing some light jogging so maybe not as bad as we thought - but I'm not quite sure if he's fit.
“We'll know a little bit more come tomorrow. It's an ankle injury.”
