David Moyes has revealed Lucas Paquetá will not be available for West Ham United’s Premier League clash away to Tottenham Hotspur.
Paqueta was forced from the pitch in the first-half of the Irons’ 1-1 draw with Chelsea at London Stadium last Saturday, and the Brazilian will not be a part of the manager’s plans for Sunday’s derby.
The boss was able, however, to provide more positive updates on Nayef Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca.
Moroccan international Aguerd was also substituted against Chelsea due to a knock, but Moyes is hopeful the centre-back could be involved in some capacity on Sunday.
Forward Scamacca, meanwhile, has returned to training with the first team.
"Lucas Paquetá is not going to be available for the game," Moyes said. "Nayef has got a chance but we’re not sure yet if he is going to make it or not.
"It’s also great that Gianluca is back, but he is nowhere near ready to play, or nowhere near ready to be selected. I might try to involve him but I have to say that it would be minimum minutes because he’s just back with us."
January signing Danny Ings has been limited to substitute outings for the Irons since joining the side from Aston Villa last month, as the forward recovered from a slight knee injury picked up on his debut against Everton.
Moyes is looking forward to having Ings available up front for the Hammers, after the 30-year-old played 23 minutes against Chelsea last weekend.
"We hope Danny is going to be a regular starter," he continued. "That’s the plan. We brought him here to get us some goals but we just need to make sure we bring him back.
"He’s had a knee injury so we’re just looking after him as best as we can as well. We’re looking forward to getting him in and him giving us those goals.
The manager was also able to give a brief update on Maxwel Cornet, as the 26-year-old continues his own recovery from a longstanding injury.
"We’re looking forward to getting Maxwel back. It seems like it’s been a long time that we’ve not had him.
"We’re due him back in next Monday but whether that means training, or building him back up. We’re certainly going to need time to build him back up, that’s for sure."
