Declan Rice

Team News: Rice & Cresswell available again for Brighton

West Ham United will have Declan Rice and Aaron Cresswell available again for Sunday’s Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The pair were suspended for Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League play-off round first leg victory over Viborg – and Rice will also miss the return leg in Denmark – but can re-take their places in the squad as domestic duties resume.

With fellow defender Thilo Kehrer having made his debut on Thursday, manager David Moyes – who himself will be back on the touchline after being banned in midweek – will have more options at the back.

He will have to wait and see on the fitness of Craig Dawson, however, as he continues to recover from a muscle problem.

The likes of Kurt Zouma, Pablo Fornals, Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma will also be pushing for starts after being among the substitutes for the European match, while Łukasz Fabiański could also return between the posts.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Moyes said: “I don’t think we’ve had [anything new] from last night.

“We’re trying to get people back as we’ve a few people injured at the moment. We hoping to get them back and be as strong as we possibly can for this game against Brighton at the weekend.

“Craig Dawson is not too far away now too, and some of the players getting their first match last night was really important.

“Angelo Ogbonna played – and we probably might not have pushed him so quickly if we had other people available, but we gave him a chance to get back in and he’s done well.”
