Tomáš Souček’s match-winning turn against Wolverhampton Wanderers has seen the midfielder become the fifth Hammer this season to be named in EA SPORTS’ FIFA Team of the Week.
The Czech Republic international, celebrating his 27th birthday on Sunday, was influential at both ends of the pitch in an important win at London Stadium.
Souček not only turned home Michail Antonio’s low pull-back from close range midway through the second half, but also made four interceptions, one defensive block, and two chances with his passing.
And to put the cherry on Souček’s (birthday) cake, FIFA 22 has now recognised his display with an ‘in-form’ card in FIFA Ultimate Team – the tenth ‘Special’ card for a West Ham player this season.
The No28 has seen his overall rating boosted – already initially at a solid 82 – within FIFA Ultimate Team up to a strong 84.
Souček’s FIFA card now boasts a superb physical rating of 87 (up from an initial 85) and defensive attributes rated 84 (up from 82).
The 27-year-old has also had his pace attribute augmented to 67 (from 74); his passing to 76 (from 74); his shooting to 74 (from 72); and his dribbling to 77 (from 74).
Jarrod Bowen, Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice and Kurt Zouma have all previously been included in the FIFA Team of the Week at different stages, while Bowen was also awarded a ‘Road to the Europa League Final’ card earlier this month.
Rice has also received a unique ‘Numbers Up’ card and Michail Antonio was reconfigured in the game in a Halloween-themed ‘Rulebreaker’ card.
Issa Diop received a UEFA Europa League ‘Road to the Knockout Stages’ item, and Benrahma was rewarded for his fine European form with a ‘Team of The Group Stage (TOTGS)’ card and later a ‘Headliners’ card.
West Ham United fans will be able to collect our latest, Souček’s Team of the Week card, in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team packs as of 6pm on Wednesday 2 March. The card will be available until 5.59pm on Wednesday 9 March.
