One of West Ham United's principal charity partners, DT38 Foundation, has spent time speaking to the Hammers first team to raise awareness of testicular cancer.
CEO Tracy Tombides – the mother of the late West Ham United striker Dylan – set up the charity in her son’s name and has worked with the Club since the foundation’s inception in February 2015.
Born in Perth, Tombides joined the Academy of Football as a schoolboy and looked set for a successful career at the highest level before his life was tragically cut short at the age of 20 by testicular cancer.
Despite his illness and the pain and suffering he endured, the young striker continued to train and play through his treatment, earning huge respect and adulation from all who knew him – and many more who did not.
You can watch our video feature above – including interviews with Tracy, West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen and Head of Medical Services Richard Collinge about the work of the DT38 Foundation and the importance of recognising, speaking and raising awareness about the symptoms of testicular cancer.
