U18s drawn away to Sheffield United in FA Youth Cup

West Ham United U18s have been drawn to play Sheffield United away in the third round proper of the FA Youth Cup.

Kevin Keen's U18s will make the trip to the Sheffield United Football Academy to play the Blades, with a finalised date and kick-off time to be confirmed in due course.

The third round proper sees Premier League and Championship enter the competition, with the Final set for Saturday 29 April 2023.

The young Hammers were eliminated at the third round stage last season with a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Newcastle United. Divin Mubama and George Earthy were on the score-sheet for Keen's side that evening at Rush Green Stadium.

West Ham United have won the FA Youth Cup on three occasions. The young side claimed the trophy in 1963, defeating Liverpool over two legs, and in 1981 with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Most recenty, the Hammers won the FA Youth Cup in 1999 against Coventry City. A side including the likes of Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Stephen Bywater secured a 9-0 aggregate win.
