Team News…

Lead coach Robson will be hoping to have attacking duo Callum Marshall and Gideon Kodua back available after the pair missed out on last weekend’s defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Forward Divin Mubama has also been absent as he continues his recovery from a minor foot injury.

Versatile wing-back Junior Robinson and midfielder Kamarai Swyer could be in contention for a starting XI spot after both returned from knocks from the bench on Saturday.

Opposition…

In a season where the race for top spot in Premier League 2 is closer than ever, Liverpool find themselves well and truly in the mix for the Championship.

The Reds are sat sixth in the division but are only three points behind leaders Arsenal. Crucially, the Merseyside outfit have only lost one match in their opening nine league fixtures this campaign.

Centre-forward Layton Stewart has been a crucial aspect of Liverpool’s early season form. The 20-year-old has six goals and one assist so far this season for the Reds, including a hat-trick in the 5-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the start of October.

A settled defence has also greatly contributed to Liverpool’s form, with left-back Luke Chambers and centre-half Lee Jonas both already playing over 900 minutes of football for the team so far this campaign.

Liverpool U21s are currently coached by Barry Lewtas, who took over the role in May 2020 following the departure of Neil Critchley to Blackpool.

Lewtas has been with Liverpool since 2013 and has progressed through the Academy groups, starting with the U12s and working his way through to the U18s manager role in July 2018.
