During the 2021/22 season the West Ham United Foundation and UFL collaborated to provide unique moments and experiences to people of all ages across the local community.
UFL, the Official Gaming Partner of West Ham United, demonstrated their passion to help people across the community by offering bespoke opportunities throughout the season. This included tickets to a variety of West Ham United home games, both Premier League fixtures and special UEFA Europa League nights, whereby young people, like those from the Moore Family Foundation programme’s London East Alternative Provision students, had their first experiences of a matchday.
Furthermore, in April, UFL surprised 16 to 19-year-olds involved in the Foundation’s Post-16 Football and Education programme to give them the chance to experience what it is like to train as a professional footballer, going behind the scenes at West Ham United’s Academy in Chadwell Heath.
Adding to this, in May, three first team players - Mark Noble, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop - chatted with the group to answer their questions which included how to deal with setbacks, advice on staying motivated and team connection.
On the collaboration, West Ham United Foundation Head of Marketing & Communications Alicia Goulding said: “It’s been brilliant to be able to work together with UFL to deliver to these unique experiences for the young people we engage with.
“We are working to tackle key issues across our community and so for UFL to proactively get involved by offering support like this in order to help us raise aspirations, and keep young people on a positive path, is fantastic.”
Eugene Nashilov, the CEO at Strikerz Inc. said “I’m so excited to be working with the West Ham United Foundation to create opportunities that help young people discover the world of football.
"We believe that it is absolutely essential to enhance connections between the club and its fans and I’m really glad that UFL is a part of that”,
UFL has been in development since 2016. The game will be available for free with new features and updates added regularly with no mandatory payments or yearly fees. The game is designed to be a fair-to-play experience emphasizing a skill-first approach with zero pay-to-win options.
