Rice, who has already been nominated for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award, is joined on the shortlist by Crystal Palace’s Conor Gallagher, Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah and Manchester City pair Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.

The 23-year-old, who was crowned Hammer of the Year for the second time in his career earlier this month, has led the Hammers to a top-seven Premier League finish and European qualification, the UEFA Europa League semi-finals and the fifth round of both domestic cup competitions.

After helping England reach the final of UEFA Euro 2020 last summer, Rice has gone from strength to strength in Claret and Blue this season, making 49 appearances, captaining the side on over 40 occasions, scoring five goals, assisting four others, completing more passes and making more tackles and interceptions than any other member of David Moyes’ squad.

It is the first time Rice has been voted into the six-player shortlist for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award, having previously been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award on two occasions previously, the first in 2018/19 and the second after leading West Ham to a sixth-place Premier League finish and UEFA Europa League qualification last season.

Should the No41 win, he would become the first West Ham player to be named PFA Fans’ Player of the Year since its introduction in the 2000/01 season.

Everyone associated with the Club would like to congratulate Declan on his nomination for both awards.
