Saïd Benrahma and Algeria are safely through to the third round of CAF qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals.
The Algerians collected the point they needed from their final second round Group A tie by drawing 2-2 with Burkina Faso in Blida on Tuesday afternoon.
Benrahma, who scored his first international goal in a 4-0 win over Djibouti on Saturday, was introduced as a 69th-minute substitute for Mohamed Youcef Belaili at the Stade Mustapha Tucker with Algeria leading 2-1 through goals from Riyad Mahrez and former Hammer Sofiane Feghouli.
Although Issoufou Dayo scored an equaliser from the penalty spot with six minutes remaining, Algeria held on to draw and finish top of Group A, two points ahead of their opponents.
Both nations finished unbeaten, but Algeria won four of their six ties to Burkina Faso's three to finish on 14 points to their rival's 12, with Niger third on seven points and Djibouti bottom on zero.
Algeria will be one of ten qualifiers drawn into five head-to-head third-round play-offs, with the winners of the two-legged matches to be played in March 2022 sealing their ticket to Qatar.
Arthur Masuaku's DR Congo have already secured their place, as have Egypt, Ghana, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria and Senegal.
Should they progress, Algeria would be competing in their fifth World Cup finals, having previously appeared in 1982, 1986, 2010 and 2014, with their best showing being the round of 16 in Brazil seven years ago.
