Angelo Ogbonna says West Ham United aren't satisfied yet with their start to the 2020/21 season - they want to keep building momentum.
The Hammers moved up to fifth in the Premier League table with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Monday, their third straight league success following wins against Fulham and Sheffield United.
On Saturday the east Londoners welcome Manchester United to London Stadium for a fixture that the hosts have enjoyed for the past two seasons.
With 3-1 and 2-0 wins against the Red Devils under their belts from the last two meetings, Ogbonna wants more of the same when they face Edison Cavani and co at the weekend.
"We don't think about our position, {we think about} the performance," the Italy defender explained. "On Monday the performance wasn’t that good, so we need to go back to the performances.
"It’s Manchester United next and we have some of our fans back in the stadium. So it’s going to be an interesting game.
"Every player in the Premier League is a top player. I have total respect for Cavani, he’s a top player but this is the Premier League. The Premier League is very quick and very open sometimes. We need to keep going with our performances."
West Ham will be boosted by the return of 2,000 fans to London Stadium for Saturday's game, and Ogbonna is delighted at the prospect of having them back.
"We hope it’s another big game for us," he added, "It’s going to be interesting because it is the first time after nine months we can have our fans back. It’s totally different when they’re back."
