West Ham United have shown their support for a campaign to show that Hate Will Not Win following online abuse England players faced after their Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
The ITV programme Good Morning Britain shared a powerful video in support of the ‘Kings of England’, to reinforce the message that "Win together. Lose together. We all stand together.”
The Hammers displayed a graphic showing the message on the digital screens at London Stadium to show their backing for the campaign, which came after Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were subjected to racial abuse online after they missed their penalties against Italy.
Voiced by the show’s presenter Alex Beresford, the video says: “So while we continue this journey, and we try to unite as one, we stand with our kings of England and tell everyone that hate has not won.”
Equality stands at the heart of everything that West Ham United does, with a continued focus on key strands of the Players’ Project in 2021; Poverty, Equality and Loneliness, so that the Club can do everything possible to help local communities recover from the impact of COVID-19.
'So while we continue this journey, and we try to unite as one. We stand with our kings of England and tell everyone that hate has not won.'
