A fine young goalkeeper who has represented England at U17s level, Jacob Knightbridge continues to go from strength to strength between the posts.

Born and raised in Brentwood, the second-year scholar is a technically adept shot-stopper who likes to play out from the back, and is vocal, intelligent and methodical in his approach.

Knightbridge started playing competitive football when he was five-years-old and initially played in defence before starting to play in goal two years later.

The young stopper has been at West Ham United since he was seven-years-old, and is regularly praised for his positive character by coaching staff at the Academy of Football.

As well as making four appearances for Kevin Keen's U18s in 2020/21, Knightbridge also took his place amongst the substitutes for the U23s' trips to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in Premier League 2.

Such is his promise, first-team goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero brought Knightbridge to West Ham United's training camp in St Andrew's, Scotland, in 2021, to train alongside a raft of senior goalkeepers.

The 2021/22 campaign saw Knightbridge establish himself in the U18s, making 25 appearances in all competitions and helping the side to keep 13 clean-sheets in 26 league outings.

The young shot-stopper also continued to be on the bench for certain U23s fixtures, and signed off the season by signing professional terms in Claret and Blue.

Knightbridge's first full season as a professional footballer saw the goalkeeper join Southern League Premier Division South Harrow Borough on loan for the 2022/23 season. Knightsbridge was first-choice for the side, playing regular league football as the team finished 19th in the 22-team division.

Knightbridge would also make his development team debut in a Premier League International Cup clash with AS Monaco in February 2023.
