Archie Woods is a combative midfielder who covers every blade of grass, scores goals and loves a tackle.
A natural leader within the U18s group, having previously captained both the U15s and the U16s, Woods' communication on the pitch is second to none.
The lifelong West Ham fan signed his first scholarship deal at the Academy of Football in the summer of 2020 and relished in the off-season and relished the opportunity of lining up for Kevin Keen's youth team.
Woods scored his first goal for the U18s in the 3-1 win over Arsenal in October 2020, and went on to finish the season with 23 appearances in all competitions to his name, including three starts in the Academy's 2020/21 FA Youth Cup run.
The 2021/22 season saw Woods make 26 appearances in all competitions for the U18s, while also earning his first two outings at U23s level, both coming in the Premier League Cup.
After signing his first professional deal at the start of the 2022/23 season, Woods would become a regular in the development team squad, making 22 appearances in all competitions (ten starts, 12 as a substitute). His first Premier League 2 goal would be scored in a 5-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, as West Ham retained their spot in Premier League 2 Division 1.
