Morocco international defender Nayef Aguerd joined West Ham United from French Ligue 1 club Rennes on a five-year contract on 20 June 2022.
The tall, left-footed centre-back developed at the national Mohammed VI Football Academy in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, before beginning his senior career with local club FUS as a teenager.
Aguerd moved to France in 2018, when he joined Ligue 1 side Dijon. His performances there saw Rennes move for him in summer 2020 and he went on to star in Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Conference League. He is also a regular for his senior national team.
