West Ham United are pleased to announce that the Club have exercised the option to extend Conor Coventry’s contract by 12 months.
The midfielder will now join Rotherham United on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
Coventry has made seven appearances in all competitions for West Ham this campaign, including three starts in the UEFA Europa Conference League and one in the EFL Cup.
The Academy of Football graduate earned a record 28 caps for the Republic of Ireland at U21 level and led his country to within a penalty shootout of their first UEFA European U21 Championship finals in June last year. He was named FAI International U21 Player of the Year for 2021.
The 22-year-old will now link up with Matt Taylor's Millers in the EFL Championship as they seek to ensure their stay in the second tier following promotion last season. There, he will line up alongside former West Ham player Jordan Hugill, who joined the Yorkshire club from Norwich City on Wednesday.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes Conor well for his loan with Rotherham.
