Swimming in St Andrews

In Pictures: West Ham stars making a splash in Scotland!

West Ham United's players having been making full use of the first-class facilities at our pre-season training camp in St Andrews.

Manager David Moyes and his staff have been putting the squad through their paces during intense days of triple training sessions in Scotland, as the players ramp up their fitness levels during the first week back.

Alongside football sessions on the immaculate pitches at St Andrews University, the players have also been conditioning in the gym, running along the town's famous West Sands beach - best known from the 1981 film 'Chariots of Fire' - and cycling around the Old Course, the venue for The Open Championship later in July and scene of some of golf's greatest moments.

On Thursday, after an high-energy morning on the grass, the team took the plunge for a recovery session in the swimming pool, where Club photographer Arfa Griffiths was on hand to snap the squad making a splash!
