West Ham United Women’s manager Paul Konchesky has named his side that will take on Everton this afternoon at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
The former Hammers full-back is making his managerial debut in the Barclays Women’s Super League opener against the Toffees, and has elected to hand out a number of competitive debuts in his first game in charge.
Kirsty Smith, Risa Shimizu, Honoka Hayashi, Jess Ziu and Viviane Asseyi are all handed the chance to wear the Claret & Blue shirt for the first time, whilst fellow new signings, Sophie Hillyerd, Izzy Atkinson, Thea Kyvåg and Keira Flannery make up three of the nine substitutes.
Dagný Brynjarsdóttir will lead the team out as Captain for the first time after being appointed in the role earlier this summer after the departure of long-term skipper, Gilly Flaherty.
Konchesky will be hoping that his get off to the best possible start as the new WSL season commences!
