West Ham United Women travel to King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday.
As the WSL season heads into the closing stages, the Hammers will be hoping to pick up points and keep themselves clear of the danger of relegation from the top division.
For now, Paul Konchesky’s team are keeping those fears at arm’s length, and are x points clear of bottom side Reading, but they know that points are needed as they look to put a bad run of form behind them.
The Hammers will hope to bounce back following a 4-0 defeat by Chelsea on Wednesday.

Team News
West Ham will be taking a strong squad to Leicester City, with Amber Tysiak hoping for a successive start after making her full debut against Chelsea last time out.
Speaking on Wednesday, Konchesky said: “Based on what I saw in this game, she’s going to be a big player for us. Hopefully, she can kick on now.”
The opposition
It has been a difficult 2022/23 Barclay's Women’s Super League for Leicester City. The club parted company with Lydia Bedford before their fixture with leaders Arsenal in November, as a reorganisation of the technical and coaching team at the Midlands-based side saw former Everton coach Willie Kirk – previously Director of Football at Leicester – transition to the dugout, while former assistant manager Nicola Williams also left the club.
Kirk has a wealth of experience as a manager. A career that started as an academy coach at Livingston FC and later Hibernian has also taken the 44-year-old to Bristol City and seen him work as an assistant manager at Manchester United. The Edinburgh-born coach saw his most recent WSL managerial experience come on Merseyside, where he was the manager of Everton until 16 October 2021.
Two wins in the last four matches has seen Leicester push up the table. But make no mistake, the Foxes would have set their sights far higher than just survival in their second top-flight season, although with two games to play the Foxes remain two points from bottom-side Reading.
Nearly two years since Leicester City achieved promotion to the WSL for the first time in 2020/21, they seek to take a huge step towards a third successive top-flight campaign against Paul Konchesky’s Irons.
