Dagný Brynjarsdóttir has been voted the Women’s Hammer of the Year for 2022/23 by West Ham United supporters.
The Claret and Blue army selected the women’s captain as their player of the season after another impressive campaign by the Icelandic international in the heart of midfield.
The No10 has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season for Paul Konchesky’s side, scoring eleven goals, including a vital penalty in the 2-1 win away to Leicester City last weekend.
It marks an impressive campaign for Brynjarsdóttir, who was named skipper at the start of the season.
In claiming the honour, Brynjarsdóttir wins the award for the first time, following fellow midfielder Kate Longhurst and former captain Gilly Flaherty in collecting the accolade, with both lifting the honour twice in the last four years.
West Ham United fans voted in their thousands for their winner of the Women’s Hammer of the Year, with Brynjarsdóttir finishing first ahead of Longhurst, in second, and Scottish forward Lisa Evans in third.
Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate Dagný on being crowned the Women’s Hammer of the Year for 2022/23.
