Team News…

Paul Konchesky will take a West Ham United XI to Parkside, and is expected to name a host of players from the team’s WSL Academy in his squad for the contest.

It will be a chance for those young players to impress, and potentially stake a claim to be in and around the first-team squad when the Barclays Women’s Super League season gets underway.

Kirsty Smith, Jess Ziu and Kate Longhurst are all yet to feature in pre-season so far, whilst the game will likely come too soon for new signing Viviane Asseyi, who was announced as Konchesky’s newest signing on Tuesday afternoon.

Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and Hawa Cissoko will both be unavailable having not yet returned to training after participating at UEFA Women's Euro 2022 with Iceland and France respectively.

The Opposition...

Hashtag United Women were formed in the summer of 2020, after a merger between AFC Basildon and Forest Glade.

Hashtag United men’s team were founded in 2016 by YouTube personality, Spencer Carmichael-Brown, and they joined the non-league pyramid at the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

Whilst the women’s team has only been around for two seasons, they’ve already tasted success – winning the Essex County Cup earlier this year, beating Billericay Town 2-1 in the final.

Brooke Cairns spent time on loan with Hashtag United last season, scoring a wonderful free-kick in their fight for the title.
