Team News

In his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Konchesky revealed that he has a near fully fit squad ahead of the clash with Manchester City.

Abbey-Leigh Stringer has not featured in the WSL since the beginning of February due to a recurring injury issue, but could be in the squad this weekend.

Amber Tysiak could make her debut for the Hammers having not featured since joining from Oud-Heverlee Leuven.

The Opposition

Manchester City are in a four way hunt for the three Champions League places available in the WSL. Heading into Sunday’s fixture, Taylor’s side sit 4th in the standings, level on points with Arsenal who are a place above the Citizens.

Indeed, their last WSL outing saw them lose 2-1 against the Gunners at Meadow Park, but before that they had racked up four WSL wins on the spin.

Bunny Shaw has been the standout players for City this season, leading the WSL scoring charts with 16 goals from 17 games, which includes six goals in her last four games.

City are also in good form at home and are unbeaten in their last 16 WSL home matches – however, the Hammers will take confidence from their stunning 2-0 win back in October 2021, where goals from Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and Yui Hasegawa secured a memorable first win against the Citizens.
