Norway U19 international Thea Kyvåg joins West Ham United Women

West Ham United Women are delighted to announce the signing of promising Norway U19 international, Thea Kyvåg

The 18-year-old joins from Toppserien side, LSK Kvinner where, despite her young age, she made 40 first-team appearances across three seasons in Norway.

Kyvåg was involved in the UEFA Women’s U19 Championship which saw Norway reach the final of the competition after wins against France, Germany and Sweden.

An attacking winger that can feature across the front three and at wing-back, Kyvåg becomes West Ham United Women’s eighth summer signing and has signed a three-year-contract with the Hammers.

Kyvåg can’t wait to get started in Claret & Blue and experience the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“I’m really looking forward to joining West Ham United,” she told whufc.com.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to play outside of Norway, and I’ve always looked up to players that have made the move to the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“I would describe myself as someone that likes to get forward, to be direct and ultimately, help the team win matches. It will be amazing to begin this new adventure in England and to test myself in the best league in the world.”

“I’m delighted to be able to welcome Thea to this football Club.

“Thea is someone that we believe fits the mould of what we’re trying to create at West Ham. She is athletic, likes to get forward and is another exciting young player to add to our group.

“Thea already has plenty of senior matches under her belt in Norway and is someone that we are confident we will be able to develop into a superb player.”

Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Thea, and we wish her well during her time in Claret & Blue.
