West Ham United Women’s international players have been busy representing their countries during the April friendly window.
Captain Dagný Brynjarsdóttir continued her impressive season in front of goal with Iceland’s opener in a 1-1 draw with New Zealand at the Maedan Sports Complex in Ankara, Turkey.
The midfielder scored her 38th goal for her country 27 minutes into her 112th cap, but the Ferns levelled seven minutes later through striker Hannah Wilkinson’s header.
Emma Snerle played the final 26 minutes as a substitute for Denmark, who secured a dramatic 1-0 win over Sweden in Malmö. Another replacement, Stine Larsen, scored the only goal of the game in the third minute of added-time at the Swedbank Stadium.
Risa Shimizu started at right-back as Japan defeated Portugal 2-1 at the Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques in Guimarães. Former Hammer Yui Hasegawa got one of Japan’s goals, while Shimizu’s current Irons teammate Honoka Hayashi was an unused substitute.
Mackenzie Arnold started in goal for Australia in a friendly with Scotland at Cherry Red Records Stadium in Wimbledon, south London.
The No1 was beaten by a long-range shot by Nichola Docherty two minutes after half-time as the Matildas lost 1-0. Her West Ham teammate Kirsty Smith was an unused substitute for Scotland.
Viviane Asseyi started for France as they came from two goals down to defeat Colombia 5-2 at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied in Clermont-Ferrand. Delphine Cascarino and Eugenie Le Sommer each scored twice for France.
Lucy Parker was not involved as England defeated Brazil on penalties at Wembley to win the first ever Women's Finalissima between the champions of Europe and South America.
